A Message From The City Manager

On behalf of the administrative team and employees of the City of Pelham, welcome to our Website!

This site has been designed to provide customer service to Pelham citizens and members of the business community, as well as deliver general information about our community. This site will continue to expand and change as we provide additional information on agendas of meetings, news from City Hall, new and existing laws and policies and information for citizens, visitors and developers.

The City of Pelham has eight administrative departments and you will find much of the information related to the business of City Hall can be found under one of these departments.

If you are unable to find the information you need, please contact someone from our administrative team and we will make every effort to provide the information for you.

Role of the City Manager

The office of the City Manager exists for bringing continuity to the affairs of local government.  Above all else, the office exists to communicate with the public.  The City Manager is the administrative head of the City of Pelham. In this capacity, the City Manager is responsible for keeping the Mayor and city council informed of the operations and affairs of the City and ensures that the decisions and the policy direction set out by the Mayor and City Council are put into operation.

It is through the City Departments that the City Manager implements the policies and decisions of City Council. This responsibility requires the City Manager to supervise City operations and review the performance of all City departments and their staff.

The City Manager prepares and presents operating and capital budgets and makes recommendations pertaining to the financial state of the City. It is also the City Manager's responsibility to provide information and recommendations to City Council and its Committees regarding the current and future policies and programs of the City.

The Local Government exists to serve the citizens and our community.  Their needs set our course and function.
